Annual Scholarships Offered by the Junior Welfare League of Huntington
The JWL offers two scholarships annually to students from the Township of Huntington.
Healthcare Scholarship, Sponsored by Dentists for a Better Huntington
Our annual Healthcare scholarship, established in 1956 and sponsored by Dentists for a Better Huntington since 2018, is open to individuals residing in the Township of Huntington who are currently enrolled in an accredited healthcare program including, but not limited to, nursing, physicians’ assistant, nurse practitioner, physical therapy, and occupational therapy. The chosen recipient will receive a $2,500 scholarship, awarded at our annual spring luncheon.

Youth in Philanthropy Scholarship, Sponsored by the JUNIOR JWL
The Youth in Philanthropy Award, established in 2010, is presented yearly to a local high school senior in recognition of her dedication to philanthropy and community service.
Our decision committee searches for a female High School Senior residing in the Township of Huntington who exhibits all that the Junior Welfare League believes in and strives for: a sense of community, a giving spirit, compassion and a willingness to assist those in need. It is our hope that her fine example will set a standard for action among their peers and create a lifelong desire to help others.
